First Look: The Emotional Bride's Perspective

To first look or not first look?

It’s an emotional question as well as one infused with the prevailing opinions of tradition and expectations.

Bride & Groom First Look Photos

My message is not that you should or should not do the first look.

Do find opportunities to connect on your wedding day.

On the day of two becoming one, why is it that often it's not until that couple falls into bed that night and looks at each other that they first actually connect?

How was your day? How was yours?

The number one regret a bride has about her wedding photos is when they didn’t take the time to get photographs of the two of them together not just doing the usual things one does together at your wedding.

Yes, you will have the ceremony, formal portraits, first dance, and cake cutting photos.

Our experience has taught us what works and what doesn't, and when you hire us, we want to bring that experience to your wedding.

As the bride in this black and white shot peers around the corner, you see the anticipation on her face. Even though the groom is not physically present in this picture, his presence is reflected by the look on her face.

The subtle squint in her eyes tells many stories, one of personal delight and also a mystery. What is she thinking?

Using foreground elements to provide a foreground, middle ground, and background, I layered the scene to give a more voyeuristic feeling to this moment before a moment.

As the groom will not have seen this emotion until it revealed in a wedding gallery, it lives now temporarily as an experience that is right now only hers.

Later, the significance of it will be something shared by them both and enjoyed.
