Woman With Lantern Rowing Through Fog

The woman in the boat is my daughter, Lauren. She flew in for the shoot. We did the shoot during the day, but we brought in fog machines and gained permission to fog up a lake to have her coming out of the fog.

Lauren, like all of us, has gone through some foggy times in her life. Holding her lantern, she is searching for love and truth. I wanted her standing in the bow of the boat, and so I needed some assistance to support her. The gentleman made a great extra.

The message is that when people are searching for what they’ve lost or need, they don't have to do it alone.

The wooden rowboat is one we own. The City of Dallas gave us a permit to teach our Texas School of Professional Photography class out on White Rock Lake and permission to use the fog machine to create the effect.

Location: White Rock Lake.
