Captured at the historic Adolphus Hotel in its French Room, this elegant bridal portrait reflects the beauty and elegance of this bride. Wedding coordination provided by DFW Events.
The Adolphus Hotel is described as "a Louis XV fantasy on the prairie...indisputably the most striking and sumptuous restaurant in Dallas." According to the NY Times, it also holds the AAA Five Diamond award.
Its hand- painted walls, and decorative ceiling and appointments are an ideal setting for a woman who admires the timeless and the luxurious. A bride's bouquet can often be oversized and cumbersome for her hands to hold gracefully.
As an artist, we know how to soften these visual problems by using positioning to hide the hands from looking stressed and minimizing the scale of the flowers by placing them behind the folds of her dress.
Bouquets are an excellent accent in a traditional portrait. However, when they are too large, our eyes want to look first at the bouquet and not the face of the woman in the photo.
The strengths of the vertical lines of the pillars and the leading lines extending from the palm fronds, the floor tiles, and the wall details all point us toward the bride in her beautiful wedding dress.
While this is a fantastic overall scene, the joy on this bride’s face communicates the perfect emotion and expression to communicate the joy she is feeling about her upcoming nuptials.
