Dallas Arboretum Wedding By DFW Events

This incredible Dallas Arboretum wedding coordinated by DFW Events Mary-Frances Hurt featured Silvia Weinstock cakes, set design by Nelson Robinson of Stageworks and a private concert by Willie Nelson.

When an English bride said "Yes" to her Texas groom, a cross-country search began to find the perfect location for their nuptials. A garden wedding held at the beautiful Dallas Arboretum was the perfect place for their spectacular ceremony. Indeed, the woman's garden is one of the most beautiful locations for an outdoor wedding in all of the DFW metroplex looking out over White Rock Lake with terraced walkways.

In 1997, the first phase of the formal gardens designed by Morgan Wheelock, a landscape architect. One of the most notable features introduced was the famous reflecting pool. In 2006, the landscaping was completed with the addition of native Texas limestone bridge and even more beautiful highlights.

White Oaks Ranch Private Events

While the wedding preparations were underway at the Arboretum, the welcome party kicked off at the Schlegel's White Oaks Ranch in Pilot Point, TX. With family and friends coming from the United Kingdom and throughout the USA, cowboy hats, mechanical bulls, face painting, caricature artists, fortune tellers and more entertained and delighted them. That evening as a surprise to everyone, the legendary country music singer, Willie Nelson, delivered a rocking private concert.

Friday night an intimate rehearsal dinner was held at The Crescent Club with elegant decor and fun cowboy living statues welcoming guests as the arrived. The sounds of a string quartet added a beautiful warmth to the evening. Toasts were given from the heart to the couple and blessings to their future together. As the evening adjourned, anticipation was building for the spectacular events to unfold the next day.

DFW Events Wedding Masterpiece

This union of two people was not only a sweet love story but a luxury affair as well coordinated by Mary-Frances Hurt of DFW Events. You can read about what she has to say about our wedding photography when David Edmonson received his Lifetime Achievement Award. The bride's personal diamonds encrusted on one of her pairs of wedding shoes with a total of 7 pairs to choose from on the day of her matrimony. She also had 4 designer wedding dresses and 100 bouquets to make her final day of selections perfect.

A processional of limos brought the excited guests in through Crepe Myrtle alley with trees filled with hanging crystals. White jacket waiters provided refreshments on their way to the ceremony. All weddings are a covenant between two people, yet some are more theatrical than others. The best man, called the groom on his phone plugged into the P.A. system saying "Where are you?" The theme to Mission Impossible filled the air as a black helicopter flew over, and a stunt groom made a rope descent behind some trees. The groom dashed in for a memorable entrance that delighted the guests.

Filled with emotion, the groom wiped tears from his eyes as the bride walked down the aisle flanked by her two daughters and bridesmaids in black dresses. As the sun fell, the couple exchanged their heartfelt vows before enjoying their incredible reception.

Stageworks Wedding Reception

More than a tent, a custom designed structure from the genius mind of Nelson Robinson of Stage Works built on the grounds with lucite tiles and LED lighting welcomed the guests for cocktails. Framed through the doorway guests could see one of Sylvia Weinstock's 18 feet tall wedding cake creations awaiting them.

As they dined under starlight panel sky's, an English comedian kept them laughing as well as more toasts from the bride's children and new husband. The symphony played their first dance, and the groomsmen performed a special dance routine. Featuring shadow dancers behind white scrim walls, they completed their look with top hats and canes.

Massive cascading floral centerpieces hung over each table, and even Sammy Davis Jr. & Frank Sinatra appeared resurrected thanks to impersonators. As the night wore on, the happy couple and their guests enjoyed dancing and partying in themed tents anchored with chandeliers and huge ropes of hanging roses.
